by Nikola Stojic Gucha (Гуча, Guča) is much more than a 'Serbian carneval' and 'Serbian Woodstock', although many people add it up to plain fun, drinking, and a fair.
We cannot understand 'The Trumpet' unless we take a look into the soul of the people living in that part of the country, their faith and religion, roots, music and customs.

We cannot understand 'The Trumpet' if we don't know what is "Sabor"  (festival,  congregatión, unión, concil,...)?

How can we understand the Dragachevo Trumpet Festival without the Serbian military trumpet, without 'kolo', the cenotaphs (standing by the road) called 'krajputaši', without the so called 'double bass' singing, the wedding, and the toast, without Serbian gypsy music, the pipe…?

Many things mark the Trumpet Festival, which has unfortunately been put down to a few popular Bregovic’s songs, young tourist girls dancing belly dance in tents, and a fair.

This page is an attempt to describe Gucha in its full beauty and meaning.

                           Welcome to Gucha!
